OBX!!!

Nick and I were lucky enough to spend a weekend away by ourselves! We went to the Outer Banks for the first time (we'd both been as kids but had very little memory of it). We really, really liked it there! We'd go back more often if it weren't SO FAR AWAY!! In hindsight we both wish we had gone somewhere much closer, but we really did enjoy the OBX, including Duck, which is where we stayed. It was heavenly though, not to have to do bedtime routine, breakfast routine, or any other routine, change diapers, wake up early, worry about what time to eat meals and what the restaurant had to offer the kids...we did miss them, but truly enjoyed our weekend! Thanks Nana and Grandbob (BOB-BOB!!!) for keeping the girls!

Jurassic mini-golf, we just had to take some pictures for Isabella!

Sunrise (well, a little after sunrise...we were on a kid-free vacation after all!) from the balcony

The pier in the background is the US Army Corps of Engineers Research Pier. We thought it would be interesting to check out, but we never made it down that way.

Our unit was the first (closest) on the 2nd floor. Nice little condo, one bedroom, 2 bath, with bunkbeds in the hall. Good views and a nice little complex. Very convenient to Duck, we rode bikes to lunch one day!

Another view from the balcony - late afternoon
This is the view from the side of the condo, so there were ocean views from both directions.

Most of Duck is on such a narrow strip of island, there is hardly any land separating sea and sound. This is sunset on the sound side of the island.

The bridge on the way home...
