I'm finally getting around to posting our pictures from the beach! (only 2 weeks late, not too bad!)

Isabella finally warms up to Aunt Patty because of little Clarissa
Isabella finally warms up to Aunt Patty because of little Clarissa
Even with 3 extra adults on our trip, this manages to be the only family pic of the 4 of us that we took all week. :( Isabella was being shy at the time so she wouldn't even smile for Patty
Sunset at the Battleship
When they towed the battleship up the river to that spot, my dad was just a kid. He remembers going down there to watch them tow it. He said it was such a big deal, practically the whole town came down to watch!
Yay, the whole family together! Like those red lips? Raspberry sorbet from KILWINS!!!
Watching the fireworks
These girls were troopers! Our plan was to eat dinner, go ride the rides, then go back home, walk across the street to the beach and watch the 9:00 fireworks from there. Well, we were STILL at the restaurant at 9:00. The girls were incredibly flexible and not crabby (the next day was a different story...)
Anna and I have known each other since about the 6th grade I think. We haven't kept in touch too well the past few years but it was great to get together for a few hours and meet her precious daughter Marie.
Isabella started out on the slow kiddie rides...
Then moved up to the bigger kiddie rides, like this roller coaster. Ouch, it was a mistake for ME to go on that ride. It slung me around all over the place. Bailey said "it scared me" but then when Isabella wanted to go again (which she did, by herself), she wanted to go too, though neither one of us agreed to go with her.
Literally, the slowest carousel I have EVER been on
This kid amazes me! She isn't the least bit of a daredevil, I mean, she doesn't ride a bike very well because she is always hitting the brakes, Bailey had a plastic ride on car that she loved being pushed down our (little) hill and into the yard, and every time Isabella would try it, she would put her feet down to stop herself, she doesn't like sledding, she won't go off the diving board...you get the drift. So it is shocking to us that she LOVES these carnival rides and goes on them by herself. When she gets off she has a huge grin plastered on her face and wants to go again, immediately. Hmmm, maybe we should take her to Carowinds for her birthday! :)
