What's New?

Oh little Isabella, you are growing up too fast!

DANCING! She loves dancing. She will dance to her CDs, music from toys, music that Mommy or Daddy sings to her, beats that Daddy sings to her, and last week she did a lot of dancing in her high chair to the music they play at restaurants. Baby dancing is just one of the cutest things ever.

I have decided to start putting my videos on Photobucket because it uploads faster. Hopefully the videos are still watchable as they were before.

TALKING! She is talking! Her first word was "book" (that's my girl!). She says it with her mouth closed so it comes out sounding more like "mmnk". She also uses that sound for other words that end in "k" like milk, drink, and block. I think her second word was "cat". Why she would say cat before dog, I'm not really sure! Her most often used baby babble is dadadadada, so at first we didn't really count that as a word. She still does it a lot, but she does say "dada" when Nick is around. Some of her other words are duck (and she will sometimes quack quack), doggie, and I think she sometimes tries to say turtle. Oh yes, and she finally did start saying mama, but only when she is crying! ;) These videos are of her talking some and also me reading books to her. She loves loves loves books. If she is on the floor, surrounded by a pile of toys and there is even just one book, that is what she wants! She is happy to look at them herself but also loves to be read to. Yay books! Her favorite books are the Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? books (we have all 4) but there are a few other board books that she really likes too.

CRAWLING!! She has started crawling! She doesn't always remember that she can do it, so at this point she is not all over the place (thank goodness). But she can do it - I think the most is probably 10-12 "steps" so far. nm .k llll/////////////////////////////////////////....////// (Isabella wanted to say hi.) She can also pull up so that she is standing on her knees. She does this in the crib or using the coffee table (this morning she fell and hit her poor little head). This isn't the best video but you can see her little self a scooting all around!

SIGNING! I can't remember if I've written about this before but she is signing. She doesn't know too many yet, and part of that is our fault for not trying to introduce more. She signs "more", "all done", "drink" (those two look alike in her world), sometimes "milk", "eat" (which is supposed to be hand to mouth but she made up her own sign - stick tongue in and out. And she does "dog", which is panting. You can see some of these in the video below, which is only for the true Isabella enthusiast - it's about 5 minutes long.

TEETH!! She just popped her third (top left) tooth the other day. She has done really well with teething so far.

I'm so proud of little Isabella for signing! She's growing so fast! Those baby signs sure did help Riley and Caroline eliminate a lot of frustration with language those first couple of years.
