So we had planned a fun birthday party at the zoo this year with some of our friends. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and Isabella didn't go to school the day before due to an eye infection, so we had to cancel. The weather unexpectedly cleared up the next day so we took the opportunity to go as a family.
It was a good zoo day! You can tell from the pics that we got pretty close to many of the animals. If you haven't been lately, it is worth a trip for the new Giraffe Overlook. It is a deck that goes out into their exhibit and when we were there they came pretty close, close enough for some of the kids to feed them branches! Isabella liked the giraffes and also, surprisingly enough, the new bee exhibit. We were eating dinner that night and all of a sudden she said "bees make honey". Smarty pants!
