Big, but not bigger

Bailey had her 2 month appointment today. She is 14 pounds, 11 ounces, which is off the charts for weight, and 23 1/2 inches long, which is in about the 90th percentile for height.

Isabella was, are you ready for this, 16 pounds, 7 ounces at her 2 month appointment! Wow, our little chunker! She was also 24 1/2 inches. Is this going to be the Jennifer and Annie syndrome? No offense to my sis, but I hope Bailey ends up taller than her. Annie doesn't stick out of our family due to her height. Dad and I are about the same height, right around 6'. Mom is around 5'8" I think, and Annie is probably right around there, maybe a little shorter? So although the height difference between Annie and I is fairly significant, she fits in to the family height arrangement just fine. Well, it looks like Isabella will be tall, like me and Nick, so if Bailey ends up at Annie's height, she WILL look out of place in our family! I'm not worried, she can just be a setter or defensive specialist on the volleyball court while her sis can dominate the net. What worries me right now is Isabella's current sports preference. If you ask her if she wants to play soccer, she says "no, I want to play basketball." Gotta introduce her to the sport of volleyball!! :)

Anyway, back to little Bailey Boo, the rest of her appointment went well. She had some shots, and her face turned the deepest shade of red I have ever seen on a human before, but stopped crying pretty quickly after I picked her up. Since her appointment, she's been sleeping, so hopefully the shots will just make her sleepy and not fussy. All the other stuff the doctor checked was fine, like head control, strength, eye contact, etc. She is starting to grow out of her 3 month size clothes, and is now wearing the 6 month size. We are now really noticing the lack of clothes sharing ability between the girls. Isabella had 3 cotton footed sleepers in the 6 month size. All her other 6 month sleepers were fleece. All of her 6 month clothes were winter, since she was 2 months old in December. Good thing I stocked up on a lot of 6 month summer clothes at the consignment sales this spring, so she has a lot of cute clothes to wear!

I'm 5'6"! and it seems unlikely (given her parents) that Bailey won't grow up to be taller than her aunt annie. but remember how i used to always say i wanted to grow taller than you so i could step on you?! i'm rootin' for Bailey on this one- it's only fair that the little sister has some line of defense!
ps. nothing wrong with a setter. and don't forget about synchronized swimming- you can be any height for that! ;)
