Dinosaur Eggs!

Sorry about the missing pictures before. They should be here now!

The other day, Isabella and I went to an Easter Egg Hunt. The cool thing about this Egg Hunt was that they used REAL eggs! From a local farm! Hard boiled of course. The unfortunate thing about using these real eggs is that we were told not to eat them. I guess because they sat out in the hot sun for a couple of hours? It seemed like a bit of a waste, these seven eggs that Isabella collected. So we made dinosaur eggs with them! Isabella had a lot of fun playing with them and I was happy for them to get a second life before being thrown away. We'll definitely have to do this again. I got the idea (see link) from Our Best Bites, who took the idea from a Chinese Tea Egg, which is basically the same method as above but you steep the eggs in tea, soy sauce, and spices. It sounds good enough to try sometime!

Also at the Easter Egg Hunt was Big Bang Boom, a local children's band, led by Chuck Folds, yes, Ben Folds' brother. Anyway, we have seen them a lot over the years (the 3 years that Isabella has been alive that is), but this is the first time she's really gotten into it. We saw them Sunday, bought their CD, then saw them again on Thursday at a fundraiser. Between Sunday and Thursday I think we listened to the same song "The Stand Up Song", #13, about 50 million times. So she knows the words pretty well and was excited to hear it in concert on Thursday. They're usually around a lot during the summer so I hope we'll see them soon!

Bailey's "favorite song" is #9, according to Isabella. The chorus is "ohhhh, I'm in trouble again" but Isabella's interpretation is "ohhh, drummunogee" which she sings over and over until she is absolutely hysterical, at which point, Bailey usually laughs. Isabella doesn't get that Bailey will laugh because she is laughing, not at some external stimuli, so she will request the song over and over again, because "it makes Bailey laugh". Hey, when your 2+ hour napper only takes a 45 minute nap on a 3 hr car ride, you'll listen to the same song for 20 minutes while both of your children are happy and entertained!
