Playdates!

Last weekend we had our first neighborhood playdate! We had about 10 families there, with kids ranging in ages from prenatal (there were 3 pregnant women there) to about 4 I think. There are about 4 kids that are about 5-7 months. It was really fun to meet some new people!

Also on Saturday, we went to Jordan (1) and Trevor's (3) birthday party. They are Crystal's (Isabella's sitter's) kids. Isabella and Jordan are best friends. They love each other! Jordan always crawls (and now she is walking!) up to Isabella and gives her lots of hugs. Isabella returns the favor with kisses. Hopefully Crystal will send me some pictures of the girls from the party so I can post them. They are so sweet.

On Monday, Isabella met a new friend, Shaina. She is the daughter of my friend Dani from high school. We lost touch after high school but Dani met Robyn at baby and me class and they realized that they both knew me. So it was really fun to reconnect with Dani. Shaina is 12 weeks and is as cute as can be!

Tuesday we had Josslyn and Danielle over for a playdate. Josslyn is Isabella's birthday buddy (well, almost). She is 2 days older than Isabella. We met them at Baby and Me class and have stayed in touch. It is so cool to see how the two of them are gaining different skills at different times. Child development is pretty fascinating. You can see from the picture that Isabella loves giving kisses!

And today we were lucky enough to have a picnic lunch with the Partins, who were on their way down to Goldsboro. Blythe is getting bigger and is such a little cutie. Every time we see them, I am amazed at how much Riley and Caroline are growing up. The two older girls look a lot alike I think, and they favor Mary. But Blythe really looks like Jason! Blythe was born at the end of December, so she is 5 months - about 2 1/2 months younger than Isabella.

Speaking of Isabella, this post has been interrupted many times as it just took me an hour to get her to go to sleep. She has been sleeping fairly well lately, only waking up a couple of quick times after going down. But last night she was awake from 2-3 and then hardly slept at all during the day today. And she was late going down tonight, so I think she's just all out of whack. One funny thing that just happened is that one time I went in there and she had turned 90 degrees, so she was laying across her crib instead of long-ways. That was interesting. She usually sleeps on her tummy but the past week she hasn't been turning over as much. Hmmm.
Her latest new foods are green beans and bananas, both of which she likes! She really likes drinking from her sippy cup. She likes to hold it and chew on the spout but she hasn't figured out how to tip it herself to get the water out. She is eating breakfast and dinner now.
TWO MORE WEEKS of school and I am out for the summer!!! I will be working on some stuff this summer but will not have regular hours. Yay! The pool opened tonight - we've got to get our membership! This weekend (yay for the weekend) we are having a neighborhood party and are also going to try to visit Laura, Edo, and Olivia. In another week and a half, Isabella and I will be fending for ourselves as Nick goes to Tampa to try to win an "All American City" distinction for good old Reidsville. He will be gone from Tuesday to Sunday, which wouldn't be all that bad if it weren't for the fact that I am still working that week. So I think it will be quite challenging to get myself to work those days. I've already decided not to even try to be there before 9:30. I will doubly need a break after that week!
Happy Memorial Day! Have a great weekend!
