Fun with Aunt Annie

Here are some pictures that my dad took this past week. A neat little tidbit - the yellow dress that she is wearing is one that my grandmother gave to me when I was a baby! My mom kept some of my clothes that were in better shape and now Isabella can wear some of them!
Isabella is 7 months today! I can't even believe it. Aunt Annie was just in town from Friday until today. We got to spend a lot of time with her and had a lot of fun. Her last visit was when Isabella was about 3 1/2 weeks! Granddad came down this weekend, so we've been having lots of fun family time lately! Yesterday we went to the Natural Science Center. The new outdoor animal exhibits are awesome! It was so wild to see the tigers so close. But our favorite was the "Wallaby Walkthrough". You are separated from the wallabies by a couple of strands of rope that the wallabies can easily jump over. When we walked through, one of the wallabies was on the walkway and we actually got to pet him! They are cute and Isabella was very amused. She also liked the peacocks.
In other (more mundane) news...her new foods lately have been pears and avocado. She likes the pears ok but she really seemed to like the avocado! She also tried out a sippy cup (with water) for the first time tonight. Just over the past week we have been feeding her dinner as well as breakfast. And unfortunately, along with the boost in solids comes STINKY poo! Breastfed babies' poo is just a little stinky and kind of sweet smelling. Once they are on solids it is really gross! And I've heard that it only gets worse! Argh! She has been turning over a lot and sleeping on her belly. It is not the best feeling to go in at night and see her sleeping face down, but she seems to like it. Whattya do? The other night was so funny because she was awake but I had gotten her to calm down so that she wasn't fussing. So she started talking and then the babbles turned to sticking her tongue out and spitting (see picture above). All while she was face down! Even though it was the middle of the night, we couldn't help but laugh at that one!
