Isabella is done nursing! We made it 18 months, yeah! Of course, since Christmas, she's only been nursing once per day, right before bed, so she was getting very little (if any) actual breastmilk. But I feel like it is a wonderful accomplishment to have nursed for so long. She did very well with the transition. I changed up her bedtime routine for a few days so that we would nurse with the lights on, then brush teeth, then turn the lights off, and then sing a song in the rocker. So after a couple nights of that I just went straight from diaper change to brushing teeth. The first two nights she whined and signed for milk (which was kind of sad for me)but then she was ok. So it has been about a week and she's still doing great at bedtime. Yay!
But sadly, she has an ear infection. After 2 or 3 weeks of a runny nose it finally caught up with her. She ran a fever for a couple of days and we finally took her to the doctor today. Oh I hate putting her on antibiotics! Hopefully this will take care of the ear infection and won't cause too bad of a diaper rash.
