6 months and where has the time gone?

Bailey Boots is 6 months old today! I can't even believe it! She is sitting up pretty well, eating solids, and rolling over from back to front, in both directions. Every once in awhile she rolls from front to back but I think she forgets that she knows how to do it. She has 1 tooth already, I think she's had that for about a month now. And she is teething, and it is not easy. Poor little thing.

She is a sweet little bug. My favorite are the baby hugs and kisses. The wide open, gaping mouth, just waiting to plant (or suck) on any part of your face. She is really a busy little girl (or guh, as Isabella says). She is always kicking and moving and bringing EVERYTHING to her mouth. She gets bored easily too, so we are constantly trying to rotate toys to keep her attention. And it is quite interesting to go out to eat with the sisters. Isabella is content and usually quite well behaved for a really long time, and always has been. She takes FOREVER to eat, so we're always in there for much longer than it takes Nick and I to eat, even if she gets her food before us. Bailey is so busy that she really doesn't want to be in her little seat for long. And she is grabbing everything in her sight/reach. We stand up and hold her until our food comes, then put her in her seat and hope that one of us can at least scarf down our food before she gets fussy and we have to stand up with her again. And of course we have to entertain her until big sis can finish eating. Even though she is busy like that, she is also somehow at the same time laid back and able to go with the flow.

Isabella is loving her more each day. And giving her new nicknames each day too. Usually it is Bailey Boots but today she called her "Poots" or "Toots" all day long. She loves to hug her and make her laugh. But we're already running into the sibling arguments, though one sided. Often I hear this while driving: "Mommmmmeeeeee! Bailey is looking at me!" And, having a typical (nearly) 3 year old version of a bipolar personality, sometimes 10 minutes later I hear "Mommmy, Bailey won't look at me!" Today we were sitting on the couch together and Bailey was doing her normal wiggly worm kicking and Isabella moved her hand over so that Bailey would kick her, and then "Mommmy, Bailey kicked me!" I didn't expect it to begin this early!

But we are all doing well. Even though we couldn't imagine life with 2 kids 6 months ago, now we can't possibly imagine life without sweet Bailey. Having 2 kids is hard work but it certainly has its share of smiles and warm fuzzies. I can't believe half a year has already gone by and in another half, she'll be 1.

And what milestone blogpost would be complete without some comparison pictures? This is Isabella in the same outfit at about the same time. Not sitting up quite as well I don't think.

And Isabella now...

Turning 3 on Friday!!!
