I took the girls to the mountains last week. We stayed with my parents for two nights (I'll post on that later, I want to snag some of my Dad's pics) then went over to see Annie for a night. We intended to go back to the science museum there, because it's pretty fun (and did I mention, we get in free ;) but when our parking place was right beside the sprayground downtown, we decided to do this instead. Thanks to Annie for all the great pictures, but somehow she didn't make it into any of them. Isabella remembered a lot about our April trip, which really shouldn't surprise me but it did. Thanks for letting us crash for a night Annie and Chrissie!
I swear I'm not a paid representative of the Natural Science Center, but we got in free to yet another science center with our membership! (ok, ok, I'll stop...until we take another trip ;) This time we were in Hickory on our way home from Asheville. It was perfect timing to stop for lunch and then visit the science center for a little while before getting back in the car. It was a neat little place, probably better for slightly older kids, but the girls enjoyed it just the same. The very best part was the touch tank with sting rays and sharks! Isabella got lots of chances to touch the sting rays because they would come right up to you and just kind of hang out there for a bit. They are much softer and squishier/slimier than I thought they'd be. The sharks were a little more elusive but I got to touch one. It wasn't as rough as I was expecting but very firm and muscular.
