Christmas time is near!

Christmas is coming! Isabella is very excited about everything that is going on in December! This weekend we were very busy! Friday night we went downtown for the tree lighting celebration. We met up with some friends and with all the thousands of people there, still ended up running into 4 different people that we knew, although I'm sure we didn't see a whole lot of other people who were down there.

Saturday we went to the Christmas parade downtown! We got there later than we wanted to so we didn't get an actual spot on the route, but we sat at the intersection where the parade began. So looking down one street we could see the balloons, the other way we saw all the bands, and the other street was the floats. The dads took the kids over to Santa's float so they could see him before we left and Isabella was excited that Santa gave her a candy cane. Though I doubt she'll sit on his lap again this year. Still not sure what she'll ask for...she's said Legos one time, but that is the only thing we've heard about it.

The A&T band is so good! They're playing in the Macy's parade next year!

The Cat in the Hat and his fish in a pot

Saturday night we went to get our tree!
Unfortunately, the girls would not cooperate when I tried to take their pictures.

Ahh, this one is better...no wait, that's from last year!
Look at little Santa Bailey! And look at Isabella's baby cheeks! She's growing up too!

Bailey was SO excited to have the tree in the house! Isabella is old enough to understand and remember some Christmas traditions, so Bailey is experiencing them for the first time. Last night Bailey would smell the tree and then run away laughing hysterically. Today she didn't really get into hanging the ornaments but she does get excited when she comes downstairs and sees the tree.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is driving around looking at lights. It is even more fun with the girls in the car. They get so excited about even a house with a single strand of lights on the roof. Bailey says "woah, wites! mo wites pees! mo wites" and she sometimes makes a chomping noise like she's eating them. For what reason I'm not sure. But what makes it even funnier is that she is still rearfacing, so the 3 of us see the lights coming up and enjoy them until we pass, when there are a few seconds of silence and THEN we hear Bailey's exclamations. So we get to experience the joys of the lights all over again. And when they are out of sight, we usually hear "mo wites, mo wites pees" until we happen across some more. The other night we were driving down Battleground and passed Rice Toyota, who has some white lights along the top of their building. Nothing exciting, but they made some effort, I guess. We pass it and then we hear "WHOA!!! WITES!!"
