Isabella had her 2 month appointment yesterday. She had her first round of shots, which was awful!! She doesn't cry very often, so I'm not used to seeing her scream her head off. I almost started crying myself. Luckily, she won't remember it (but I will). She settled down pretty quickly afterwards and hasn't had any side effects, so that is good.
We put the "little one" on the scale. She weighed just over 13 pounds about 3 weeks ago, so I'm thinking somewhere around 14 pounds. Nope. 16 pounds and 7 ounces!! The doctor told us that is the size of an average 7 month old! She only has 5.5 pounds left to gain before she can't ride in her carrier anymore. Which is a problem, because she'll probably grow out of that before she can sit up. So we won't be able to take her shopping in her carrier. But that's not too big of a deal, because I usually have her in the Bjorn when I go shopping anyway. So those of you who don't see her very often and are just seeing her picture and thinking "that looks like a big baby"...well, she IS a big baby! She is 24.5 inches, which is taller than the normal 2 month old, but since she was born at 22 inches, she's not gaining inches as quickly as she's gaining ounces! I looked at my baby book yesterday and I weighed only a little bit less than her when I was 9 weeks old. However, I did weigh almost 2 pounds more than her when I was born! But look at her, she's got such big (tall) parents!
We put our tree up this weekend! Our big artificial tree is too big for our living room this year, so we put it on the porch and got a real tree! It is a little one and we put it up on a table. It is really cute!
She is starting to take the bottle really well, so that is a relief for me as the day I head back to work gets closer and closer and closer. We are going to leave her with Crystal (the mom who is going to be keeping her) for a couple of hours one day this week. I am making sure it is a day that Nick is off work so that I don't have to be by myself when I drop her off :( I am happy about our decision though. Crystal is really nice and has great kids, so it will be a wonderful environment for Isabella to spend a few hours a day in.
