According to the latest Parents magazine story entitled "Hey Baby, What's Your Sign?", our little Libra is destined to be quite social (much like her Daddy, not at all like her Mommy). And I quote: "What a charmer you've brought into the world! Libras are blessed with grace and an inherent ability to captivate everyone around them. Give your social child ample opportunities to interact with her peers, such as baby classes and playdates (she'll be Ms. Popularity long before she starts preschool). Consider throwing a big party for her first birthday - she'll likely get a kick out of getting dressed up and being doted on by loved ones. And bust a move together: Libras love music and dancing." Take it or leave it...
So far, she is living up to her Zodiac sign - she sure captivates everyone in the room! Of course, she IS the most adorable baby in the whole wide world, so why wouldn't she? Seriously though, she does seem to be very social at this stage of her life. She seeks out eye contact and loves having conversations with us. She also will smile at just about anyone, although she talks mostly to Nick and I and her grandparents. The other night she was across the room from me and we were talking to each other. But she wanted more social interaction, so she gave this big, loud, dissatisfied grunt. So of course, I went over to her and that made her happy! We have been saying the vowels to her because she likes to watch our mouths move and she is starting to try to copy some of the sounds. We can tell that she kind of "knows" the vowels by now because when we say them to her, she gets a big smile on her face and talks back even more. She is just too adorable!
