Isabella has had 3 tub baths so far, since her freaky umbi fell off. She seems to enjoy them pretty well, which is a wonderful relief. By enjoy, I mean that she doesn't cry or squirm, it's not like she smiles and laughs or anything, she's still too young for that! The second bath we gave her, she pooped after about 2 minutes. That tub bath quickly turned into a sponge bath! When I showed Nick this picture on the camera, he said, in the typical nature of a protective father, "you're not posting that on the blog, are you?!?!?!" So this is the edited version!

After 5 weeks, Isabella has decided that she likes the pacifier sometimes. It is amazing how much it calms her down. What is also amazing to me is how cute she looks while sucking on it! I mean, she is cute anyway, but just seeing her little cheeks in action is just about the cutest thing ever! This picture doesn't quite do her justice (but is still pretty cute).

We had somewhat of a weird weekend. Friday morning, Nick had surgery to get two rotten teeth removed. The surgery went well, and luckily, Isabella slept the entire time that we were at the dentist. Nick was pretty loopy all day Friday, much to my amusement! It was nice to be able to wait on him, since he has been so helpful to me during my pregnancy and also since Isabella was born. Saturday he stopped taking the heavy duty painkillers, so he was more himself. He has healed well. Saturday, Isabella decided not to go to sleep. She probably slept for an hour, maybe a collective total of 2 hours from about 9:30 am until 11:30 pm. She was seriously awake all day! She slept ok that night. Sunday though, she decided to sleep all day, so make up for her lack of sleeping the day before. Sunday night and Monday night she slept pretty well. Her gassiness seems to have gotten better lately.
She continues to grow and to become more aware of her surroundings. We have been playing some lately. We have a little play mat with some things that you push to make music and lights come on. She enjoys laying on that. She also really loves being outside. Her changing table is right beside the window, and she loves looking out the window. She also likes going outside with me to check the mail. She just looks all around. She also likes taking walks in her stroller. I am sad that winter is coming, and we'll be able to spend less time outside. However, NC winters are usually so mild that we'll still probably be able to take some walks.
