Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for the birth of our dear, sweet, healthy daughter and each precious moment that we spend with her every day. We are thankful for the love and support of our family. We are thankful that my parents live here in town and are so helpful. We are thankful for all of our friends who have brought us dinners and who always ask if they can help us out in any way. We are thankful for our family, friends, and neighbors who will ensure that Isabella grows up in a loving, healthy environment. We are thankful for our dogs and our jobs. We are thankful for all of our friends who are pregnant or who have recently given birth for the growth of their families.
Isabella will be 7 weeks old on Monday. She has started discovering her mouth! She plays with her tongue and sucks on her hands. She has also been smiling a lot!! We have also enjoyed the fact that she continues to be a laid back baby! At Thanksgiving, she was passed around to be held by lots of "strange (to her)" family members, and she is always fine with that! She is just a very chill, sweet baby. Unfortunately, these are not actually pictures from Thursday, but this is when my grandmother, aunt, and grandfather came to town back in October. She did SO well in the car! She slept the entire way TO and FROM Raleigh. It was a surprise to me, because I don't usually get that lucky when we are driving around town, but she did really well. I told you she's a good baby ;)
Another big milestone is that Isabella slept in her crib for the first time and second time these past two nights! She enjoys being swaddled, which we didn't think she liked at first. She does wake up every hour or two, so we are a little more tired. But it is a start! And Nick is enjoying being back in the bed!
We have been trying to start introducing the bottle this week. It has not gone very well so far. However, as I write this, Nick is having some success with a different brand of bottle! Exciting!
