Sprinkler Fun

Ok, go back in time with me...it's a hot day...there is no relief in sight...no pool membership, no trip to the beach...so what do you do? Pull out the sprinkler! Last night was the 3rd time this summer that I engaged in such a pleasure! I have to admit that I wait until the sun goes down so my neighbors do not see this 29 year old pregnant woman standing in the sprinkler for 30 minutes. And lately my spontaneous sprinkler trysts have been compromised by the drought. We're on water restrictions and can only run the sprinkler one day per week - the day that our garbage gets picked up. So I was lucky last night! And just like when we were little, the first few trips through the sprinkler are cold and almost unpleasant, but then...ahhhhhhhh, sweet relief from the heat! I even convinced Nick to get in with me for a minute last night!

So I'm 38 weeks today. Most babies are born between 38 and 42 weeks!! I am still feeling surprisingly good - no contractions or back pain or anything. I'm sleeping pretty well, despite my numerous trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It has been a big adjustment because when I'm not pregnant, I hardly ever have to use the bathroom, but that has certainly changed. Isabella is still riding pretty high, but I guess when she drops I'll be breathing a little easier but peeing a little more. We went to the doctor today and nothing eventful happened. I put on a few pounds at my visit last week but dropped a couple this week.

We got our glider today! Nick put it together and now the nursery is complete! In the picture the cushions look yellow but really they're kind of an off-white/tan. I need to take some better pictures of the room so that you can see the bookshelf and the rug and the changing table/dresser combo. And the curtains. We still need stuff on the walls, but we're not in a rush for that. The glider is very comfortable and I can't wait to rock Isabella in it very soon! Tonight we spent a very exciting Friday night at Target looking at lamps. We did buy a lamp for the little table we bought to put beside the glider (we've got to have some light to read by). Target sounds so thrilling, I know, but we finished the night with an ice cream cone from Yum Yum, so that actually was exciting!

Being so close, I'm trying to get all my "ducks in a row" in case I go into labor, like, right now. My mom is in charge of calling a handful of people (like work) and my sister is in charge of emailing everyone else with the details (hopefully if you're reading this you're on the email list - our apologies if we missed you somehow). Two of our wonderful neighbors have agreed to watch the dogs for us. I had to give out my password to my computer at work in case someone needs to access something on there while I'm gone. There really is a lot to think about! But I guess that once I'm at the hospital, I'm not really going to worry about it!
